Ed brings a broad background in advertising, marketing, and research to Medi-Promotions. He began his career in 1973 at Palshaw Measurement, Inc. in Southport, Connecticut as a Research Analyst. Ed’ assessment of his first job,  “I couldn’t have been luckier than to start at Palshaw; analyzing hundreds of pharmaceutical ad tests gave me a good background on pharmaceuticals and on what factors make up a good ad.”

In 1975, Ed was hired by Technical Publishing Company, as a Project Manager in market research.  He worked on various research projects for seven industrial/trade journals. In 1979, Ed was promoted to Special Projects Director, where he took on tasks in promotional writing and trade show management for TPC’s journals.

In 1980, Ed jumped to the client side, as Manager, Marketing Communications for Digital Associates Corporation, a Stamford, CT based supplier of computer peripherals and interfaces.  “Working at Digital Associates was probably the best training ground in my career,” according to Ed. “I was a one man advertising, marketing, PR and sales promotion department.  I created the ads, wrote the copy, created and wrote all the collateral material and direct mail programs, wrote all the news releases, visited with all the editors of data processing trade journals and served as the company’s trade show manager.”

In 1984, Ed jumped back into publishing, this time with Patient Care Communications in Darien, CT as Manager of Research, Promotion and Circulation for Patient Care magazine. “Here, I worked for one of the industry legends, Gus Fink, the creator of mini-mass journal,” Ed said.  In 1988, Ed continued Medical Publishing career with Cliggott Publishing in Greenwich, CT, as Research and Circulation Director for 4 medical journals.

In 1991, Ed joined Medi-Promotions as Director, Marketing Intelligence.  Within six months of joining the company, he was given the additional responsibility of planning all off -site sales meetings.  About his fourteen plus years with the company, Ed says, “I’ve stayed at Medi because some of the most talented people in our industry are here.  I’ve been able to use the skills I’ve developed during my career to support the Medi sales force and the variety of assignments I’ve been given assure that I’m never bored.

Ed has a B.S. in Marketing from Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT and resides in Darien, CT with his two children, Danielle and EJ.
